Jason S. McCully, the former head of the Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS department, was newly charged on Sept. 12, according to the Berks County District Attorney's Office.

Investigators have accused McCully, 39, of secretly recording two women, including a juvenile, on a hidden camera in the bathroom of his home on the 2900 block of Main St. in Caernarvon Township.

He was initially arrested on Monday, Aug. 22, nearly three months after officers discovered a small camera hidden inside a toiletry bag on the restroom sink inside the EMS building on Main Street.

McCully recorded a total of eight female victims, including two girls under the age of 18, in various stages of nudity, from Oct. 26, 2021, to May, 24, authorities said.

McCully, who remained held in the Berks County Jail, is expected to be arraigned on the new charges at a later date.

He has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Criminal Attempt - Sexual Abuse of Children
  • Criminal Attempt - Sexual Abuse of Children- Possession of Child Pornography
  • Interception
  • Disclosure of Wire/Electronic/Oral Communication
  • Possession of Device for Intercepting Communications
  • Invasion of Privacy

The EMS department serves municipalities in Berks, Chester, and Lancaster counties.

They announced last month that they let McCully go from his position. Matthew C. Welch, formerly of the Western Berks EMS department, was announced as the newest chief of Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS department on Sept. 11.
